Protests in Bangladesh

09 August 2024

09/08/2024

We inform you that the ongoing anti-government protests in the territory are not subsiding, despite the recent resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

We are experiencing severe congestion due to high cargo volumes at Dhaka Airport and Chattogram Port. The halt of the railway service, which has recently resumed limited transport, has not helped.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates as soon as they are available.

We inform you that things are still pretty rough in Bangladesh. Protests are still going on, even though the government is cracking down hard on them.

Because of this, we still can't get in touch with anyone in Bangladesh, and we don't have any way of finding out what's happening with our shipments there.

We're keeping a close eye on the situation and we'll get things back to normal as soon as we can.

In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to our team if you have any questions.

We inform you that we are currently experiencing difficulties contacting Bangladesh due to a nationwide internet and phone service blackout.

The Bangladeshi authorities have imposed this measure in an attempt to quell ongoing anti-government protests that have been taking place for several weeks.

This means that it is currently impossible for us to:

  • Receive or make calls to and from Bangladesh
  • Send or receive SMS messages from Bangladesh
  • Access Bangladeshi websites
  • Utilize internet services based in Bangladesh

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause. We are closely monitoring the situation and will do our utmost to restore services as soon as possible.

Our teams are available to provide you with further information.
